The technologist has the primary responsibility of assuring the provision of quality and safe services through other technologists within the assigned laboratory. The lead technologist assures that employees are performing their work consistent with organizational expectations and policies and procedures conforming to regulatory standards. The lead tech is responsible for the daily clinical, administrative and operational success of the laboratory. Under the general direction of the Team leader/Supervisor and/or Director, manages laboratory sections, and employs a results oriented approach to leadership.
Initially part time with transition to full time position. Accurately analyze and process paper billing sheets and electronic billing into management system for timely processing of claims and revenue recognition for all submissions. Review for appropriate ICD coding. Verify/update and obtain patient demographic information for submission of claims. Assist in recovery of self-pay patients. Perform eligibility checking for all necessary claims Process overpayments and refunds in efficient manner. Perform extensive follow up, denials and collections of claims with multiple insurance carriers. Maintain confidentiality of billing information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
This position is responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes associated with specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Perform isolation of DNA and RNA from human blood, bone marrow and FFPE specimens using manual and automated techniques. Will set-up molecular assays and perform analysis of data; operate and maintain laboratory equipment needed to perform daily duties; increase productivity and maintain proficiency in the wet lab and analysis sections; continue to gain knowledge of hematological and solid tumor diseases and recognition of specific abnormalities; adhere to laboratory policies for safety, conduct, and performance.
