We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Molecular Research Scientist to support Empire Genomics' research and development efforts and contract research projects. In this position, the candidate will play an important role in developing and implementing molecular biomarkers in a research setting. The position will work with human specimens, and interact with laboratory operations and vendor scientists. Excellent communication and organization skills are required. In the innovative and fast-paced environment at Empire Genomics, this position offers the opportunity to acquire new skills and gain broad exposure to cancer biomarker discovery, clinical trials and sample processing, and management.
Initially part time with transition to full time position. Accurately analyze and process paper billing sheets and electronic billing into management system for timely processing of claims and revenue recognition for all submissions. Review for appropriate ICD coding. Verify/update and obtain patient demographic information for submission of claims. Assist in recovery of self-pay patients. Perform eligibility checking for all necessary claims Process overpayments and refunds in efficient manner. Perform extensive follow up, denials and collections of claims with multiple insurance carriers. Maintain confidentiality of billing information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
This position is responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes associated with specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results. Perform isolation of DNA and RNA from human blood, bone marrow and FFPE specimens using manual and automated techniques. Will set-up molecular assays and perform analysis of data; operate and maintain laboratory equipment needed to perform daily duties; increase productivity and maintain proficiency in the wet lab and analysis sections; continue to gain knowledge of hematological and solid tumor diseases and recognition of specific abnormalities; adhere to laboratory policies for safety, conduct, and performance.

The Pharma Key Account Manager is responsible for driving sales in the territory by selling the clinical and service value to current and new clients. The individual is responsible for calling on pharmaceutical companies and Biotech/CRO clients to understand research and clinical study needs and to close deals for the different gene mutation tests.
Under minimal supervision, coordinates, oversees, and performs routine and specialized activities related to the operation of the FISH section of clinical laboratory as well as validation/optimizing protocols and tissue types. Develops protocols, coordinates work flow and oversees quality control in specialized areas of the laboratory. Demonstrates proficiency in sample preparation, hybridization, washing, microscopic analysis of interphase nuclei/metaphase cells and imaging.
