CAPN13-GALNT14 Fusion FISH Probe

The CAPN13-GALNT14 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CAPN13 and GALNT14 genes. The fusion of the CAPN13 and GALNT14 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma, and Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

GALNT14 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a Golgi protein which is a member of the polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (ppGalNAc-Ts) protein family. These enzymes catalyze the transfer of N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc) to the hydroxyl groups on serines and threonines in target peptides. The encoded protein has been shown to transfer GalNAc to large proteins like mucins. Alterations in this gene may play a role in cancer progression and response to chemotherapy. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]

Gene Name: Polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 14

Chromosome: CHR2: 31133332 -31361571

Locus: 2p23.1

CAPN13 Gene Summary

The calpains, calcium-activated neutral proteases, are nonlysosomal, intracellular cysteine proteases. The mammalian calpains include ubiquitous, stomach-specific, and muscle-specific proteins. The ubiquitous enzymes consist of heterodimers with distinct large, catalytic subunits associated with a common small, regulatory subunit. This gene encodes a member of the calpain large subunit family. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2012]

Gene Name: Calpain 13

Chromosome: CHR2: 30945637 -31030311

Locus: 2p23.1
