CDKAL1-KCNMB2 Fusion FISH Probe

The CDKAL1-KCNMB2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CDKAL1 and KCNMB2 genes. The fusion of the CDKAL1 and KCNMB2 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

KCNMB2 Gene Summary

MaxiK channels are large conductance, voltage and calcium-sensitive potassium channels which are fundamental to the control of smooth muscle tone and neuronal excitability. MaxiK channels can be formed by 2 subunits: the pore-forming alpha subunit and the modulatory beta subunit. The protein encoded by this gene is an auxiliary beta subunit which decreases the activation time of MaxiK alpha subunit currents. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene. Additional variants are discussed in the literature, but their full length nature has not been described. Gene Name: Potassium Calcium-activated Channel Subfamily M Regulatory Beta Subunit 2

Chromosome: CHR3: 178254223 -178562217

Locus: 3q26.32

CDKAL1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the methylthiotransferase family. The function of this gene is not known. Genome-wide association studies have linked single nucleotide polymorphisms in an intron of this gene with susceptibilty to type 2 diabetes. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Gene Name: CDK5 Regulatory Subunit Associated Protein 1 Like 1
