CTNNA1-REEP2 Fusion FISH Probe

The CTNNA1-REEP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CTNNA1 and REEP2 genes. The fusion of the CTNNA1 and REEP2 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

CTNNA1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the catenin family of proteins that play an important role in cell adhesion process by connecting cadherins located on the plasma membrane to the actin filaments inside the cell. The encoded mechanosensing protein contains three vinculin homology domains and undergoes conformational changes in response to cytoskeletal tension, resulting in the reconfiguration of cadherin-actin filament connections. Certain mutations in this gene cause butterfly-shaped pigment dystrophy. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]

Gene Name: Catenin Alpha 1

Chromosome: CHR5: 138089106 -138270723

Locus: 5q31.2

REEP2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the receptor expression enhancing protein family. Studies of a related gene in mouse suggest that the encoded protein is found in the cell membrane and enhances the function of sweet taste receptors. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]

Gene Name: Receptor Accessory Protein 2

Chromosome: CHR5: 137774775 -137782658

Locus: 5q31.2
