CTNND1-TMX2 Fusion FISH Probe

The CTNND1-TMX2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the CTNND1 and TMX2 genes. The fusion of the CTNND1 and TMX2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma, and Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

CTNND1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the Armadillo protein family, which function in adhesion between cells and signal transduction. Multiple translation initiation codons and alternative splicing result in many different isoforms being translated. Not all of the full-length natures of the described transcript variants have been determined. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream thioredoxin-related transmembrane protein 2 (TMX2) gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Gene Name: Catenin Delta 1

Chromosome: CHR11: 57529233 -57586652

Locus: 11q12.1

TMX2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the disulfide isomerase (PDI) family of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) proteins that catalyze protein folding and thiol-disulfide interchange reactions. The encoded protein has an N-terminal ER-signal sequence, a catalytically active thioredoxin domain, one transmembrane domain and a C-terminal ER-retention sequence. This protein is enriched on the mitochondria-associated-membrane of the ER via palmitoylation of two of its cytosolically exposed cysteines. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]

Gene Name: Thioredoxin Related Transmembrane Protein 2

Chromosome: CHR11: 57479994 -57508445

Locus: 11q12.1
