DGKD-ATG16L1 Fusion FISH Probe

The DGKD-ATG16L1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DGKD and ATG16L1 genes. The fusion of the DGKD and ATG16L1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DGKD Gene Summary

This gene encodes a cytoplasmic enzyme that phosphorylates diacylglycerol to produce phosphatidic acid. Diacylglycerol and phosphatidic acid are two lipids that act as second messengers in signaling cascades. Their cellular concentrations are regulated by the encoded protein, and so it is thought to play an important role in cellular signal transduction. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Diacylglycerol Kinase Delta

Chromosome: CHR2: 234263152 -234380743

Locus: 2q37.1

ATG16L1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is part of a large protein complex that is necessary for autophagy, the major process by which intracellular components are targeted to lysosomes for degradation. Defects in this gene are a cause of susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease type 10 (IBD10). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010]

Gene Name: Autophagy Related 16 Like 1

Chromosome: CHR2: 234160216 -234204320

Locus: 2q37.1
