ERCC3-MAP3K2 Fusion FISH Probe

The ERCC3-MAP3K2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ERCC3 and MAP3K2 genes. The fusion of the ERCC3 and MAP3K2 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ERCC3 Gene Summary

This gene encodes an ATP-dependent DNA helicase that functions in nucleotide excision repair. The encoded protein is a subunit of basal transcription factor 2 (TFIIH) and, therefore, also functions in class II transcription. Mutations in this gene are associated with Xeroderma pigmentosum B, Cockayne's syndrome, and trichothiodystrophy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: ERCC Excision Repair 3, TFIIH Core Complex Helicase Subunit

Chromosome: CHR2: 128014865 -128051752

Locus: 2q14.3

MAP3K2 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of serine/threonine protein kinase family. This kinase preferentially activates other kinases involved in the MAP kinase signaling pathway. This kinase has been shown to directly phosphorylate and activate Ikappa B kinases, and thus plays a role in NF-kappa B signaling pathway. This kinase has also been found to bind and activate protein kinase C-related kinase 2, which suggests its involvement in a regulated signaling process. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 2

Chromosome: CHR2: 128056244 -128100805

Locus: 2q14.3
