ETV6-EPB41L2 Fusion FISH Probe

The ETV6-EPB41L2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ETV6 and EPB41L2 genes. The fusion of the ETV6 and EPB41L2 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

EPB41L2 Gene Summary

The Erythrocyte Membrane Protein Band 4.1 Like 2 (EPB41L2) gene is located on chr6 :131160487-131384462 at 6q23.1-q23.2.

Gene Name: Erythrocyte Membrane Protein Band 4.1 Like 2

Chromosome: CHR6: 131160487 -131384462

Locus: 6q23.1-q23.2

ETV6 Gene Summary

This gene encodes an ETS family transcription factor. The product of this gene contains two functional domains: a N-terminal pointed (PNT) domain that is involved in protein-protein interactions with itself and other proteins, and a C-terminal DNA-binding domain. Gene knockout studies in mice suggest that it is required for hematopoiesis and maintenance of the developing vascular network. This gene is known to be involved in a large number of chromosomal rearrangements associated with leukemia and congenital fibrosarcoma. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Gene Name: ETS Variant 6
