EVC-WDR60 Fusion FISH Probe

The EVC-WDR60 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the EVC and WDR60 genes. The fusion of the EVC and WDR60 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

EVC Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein containing a leucine zipper and a transmembrane domain. This gene has been implicated in both Ellis-van Creveld syndrome (EvC) and Weyers acrodental dysostosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: EvC Ciliary Complex Subunit 1

Chromosome: CHR4: 5712923 -5816031

Locus: 4p16.2

WDR60 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are minimally conserved regions of approximately 40 amino acids typically bracketed by gly-his and trp-asp (GH-WD) and may facilitate the formation of heterotrimeric or multiprotein complexes. Members of this family are involved in a variety of cellular processes including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. The encoded protein contains four WD repeats and may play a role in the formation of cilia. Mutations in this gene have been associated with short-rib polydactyly and Jeune syndromes. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]

Gene Name: WD Repeat Domain 60

Chromosome: CHR7: 158649268 -158738883

Locus: 7q36.3
