GATAD2B-CRTC2 Fusion FISH Probe

The GATAD2B-CRTC2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GATAD2B and CRTC2 genes. The fusion of the GATAD2B and CRTC2 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GATAD2B Gene Summary

This gene encodes a zinc finger protein transcriptional repressor. The encoded protein is part of the methyl-CpG-binding protein-1 complex, which represses gene expression by deacetylating methylated nucleosomes. Mutations in this gene are linked to intellectual disability and dysmorphic features associated with cognitive disability. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]

Gene Name: GATA Zinc Finger Domain Containing 2B

Chromosome: CHR1: 153777202 -153895451

Locus: 1q21.3

CRTC2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the transducers of regulated cAMP response element-binding protein activity family of transcription coactivators. These proteins promote the transcription of genes targeted by the cAMP response element-binding protein, and therefore play an important role in many cellular processes. Under basal conditions the encoded protein is phosphorylated by AMP-activated protein kinase or the salt-inducible kinases and is sequestered in the cytoplasm. Upon activation by elevated cAMP or calcium, the encoded protein translocates to the nucleus and increases target gene expression. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene may increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 5. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Gene Name: CREB Regulated Transcription Coactivator 2

Chromosome: CHR1: 153920147 -153931132

Locus: 1q21.3
