HOOK3-TM2D2 Fusion FISH Probe

The HOOK3-TM2D2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HOOK3 and TM2D2 genes. The fusion of the HOOK3 and TM2D2 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

TM2D2 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene contains a structural module related to that of the seven transmembrane domain G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. This protein has sequence and structural similarities to the beta-amyloid binding protein (BBP), but, unlike BBP, it does not regulate a response to beta-amyloid peptide. This protein may have regulatory roles in cell death or proliferation signal cascades. This gene has multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants which encode two different isoforms. Gene Name: TM2 Domain Containing 2

Chromosome: CHR8: 38846326 -38854041

Locus: 8p11.22

HOOK3 Gene Summary

Hook proteins are cytosolic coiled-coil proteins that contain conserved N-terminal domains, which attach to microtubules, and more divergent C-terminal domains, which mediate binding to organelles. The Drosophila Hook protein is a component of the endocytic compartment.[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2004]
