IL13RA1-WDR44 Fusion FISH Probe

The IL13RA1-WDR44 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the IL13RA1 and WDR44 genes. The fusion of the IL13RA1 and WDR44 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

IL13RA1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the interleukin 13 receptor. This subunit forms a receptor complex with IL4 receptor alpha, a subunit shared by IL13 and IL4 receptors. This subunit serves as a primary IL13-binding subunit of the IL13 receptor, and may also be a component of IL4 receptors. This protein has been shown to bind tyrosine kinase TYK2, and thus may mediate the signaling processes that lead to the activation of JAK1, STAT3 and STAT6 induced by IL13 and IL4. Gene Name: Interleukin 13 Receptor Subunit Alpha 1

Chromosome: CHRX: 117861558 -117928496

Locus: Xq24

WDR44 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein that interacts with the small GTPase rab11. A similar protein in rat binds the GTP-containing active form of rab11. This protein may play a role in endosome recycling. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Gene Name: WD Repeat Domain 44
