ITGB5-ZNF148 Fusion FISH Probe

The ITGB5-ZNF148 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ITGB5 and ZNF148 genes. The fusion of the ITGB5 and ZNF148 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

ITGB5 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a beta subunit of integrin, which can combine with different alpha chains to form a variety of integrin heterodimers. Integrins are integral cell-surface receptors that participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signaling. The alphav beta5 integrin is involved in adhesion to vitronectin. Gene Name: Integrin Subunit Beta 5

Chromosome: CHR3: 124481794 -124606144

Locus: 3q21.2

ZNF148 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Kruppel family of zinc finger DNA binding proteins. The encoded protein activates transcription of the T-cell receptor and intestinal alkaline phosphatase genes but represses transcription of the ornithine decarboxylase, vimentin, gastrin, stomelysin, and enolase genes. Increased expression of this gene results in decreased patient survival rates from colorectal cancer, while mutations in this gene have been associated with global developmental delay, hypoplastic corpus callosum, and dysmorphic facies. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2017]

Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 148

Chromosome: CHR3: 124944512 -125094198

Locus: 3q21.2
