KDM3A-PUS10 Fusion FISH Probe

The KDM3A-PUS10 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the KDM3A and PUS10 genes. The fusion of the KDM3A and PUS10 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

KDM3A Gene Summary

This gene encodes a zinc finger protein that contains a jumonji domain and may play a role in hormone-dependent transcriptional activation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]

Gene Name: Lysine Demethylase 3A

Chromosome: CHR2: 86668270 -86719839

Locus: 2p11.2

PUS10 Gene Summary

Pseudouridination, the isomerization of uridine to pseudouridine, is the most common posttranscriptional nucleotide modification found in RNA and is essential for biologic functions such as spliceosome biogenesis. Pseudouridylate synthases, such as PUS10, catalyze pseudouridination of structural RNAs, including transfer, ribosomal, and splicing RNAs. These enzymes also act as RNA chaperones, facilitating the correct folding and assembly of tRNAs (McCleverty et al., 2007 [PubMed 17900615]).[supplied by OMIM, May 2009]

Gene Name: Pseudouridylate Synthase 10

Chromosome: CHR2: 61167547 -61245365

Locus: 2p16.1-p15
