MED20-TLL2 Fusion FISH Probe

The MED20-TLL2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MED20 and TLL2 genes. The fusion of the MED20 and TLL2 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

TLL2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes an astacin-like zinc-dependent metalloprotease and is a subfamily member of the metzincin family. Unlike other family members, a similar protein in mice does not cleave procollagen C-propeptides or chordin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Tolloid Like 2

Chromosome: CHR10: 98124362 -98273683

Locus: 10q24.1

MED20 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a component of the mediator complex (also known as TRAP, SMCC, DRIP, or ARC), a transcriptional coactivator complex thought to be required for the expression of almost all genes. The mediator complex is recruited by transcriptional activators or nuclear receptors to induce gene expression, by interacting with RNA polymerase II and promoting the formation of a transcriptional pre-initiation complex. A mutation in this gene has been associated with a novel infantile-onset neurodegenerative movement disorder. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2015]

Gene Name: Mediator Complex Subunit 20

Chromosome: CHR6: 41873091 -41888877

Locus: 6p21.1
