MPO-ANXA1 Fusion FISH Probe

The MPO-ANXA1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the MPO and ANXA1 genes. The fusion of the MPO and ANXA1 genes has been associated with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

ANXA1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a membrane-localized protein that binds phospholipids. This protein inhibits phospholipase A2 and has anti-inflammatory activity. Loss of function or expression of this gene has been detected in multiple tumors. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Gene Name: Annexin A1

Chromosome: CHR9: 75766780 -75785307

Locus: 9q21.13

MPO Gene Summary

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a heme protein synthesized during myeloid differentiation that constitutes the major component of neutrophil azurophilic granules. Produced as a single chain precursor, myeloperoxidase is subsequently cleaved into a light and heavy chain. The mature myeloperoxidase is a tetramer composed of 2 light chains and 2 heavy chains. This enzyme produces hypohalous acids central to the microbicidal activity of neutrophils. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

Gene Name: Myeloperoxidase

Chromosome: CHR17: 56347216 -56358296

Locus: 17q22
