NCAM2-CRYL1 Fusion FISH Probe

The NCAM2-CRYL1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the NCAM2 and CRYL1 genes. The fusion of the NCAM2 and CRYL1 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

NCAM2 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a type I membrane protein and may function in selective fasciculation and zone-to-zone projection of the primary olfactory axons. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule 2

Chromosome: CHR21: 22370632 -22912517

Locus: 21q21.1

CRYL1 Gene Summary

The uronate cycle functions as an alternative glucose metabolic pathway, accounting for about 5% of daily glucose catabolism. The product of this gene catalyzes the dehydrogenation of L-gulonate into dehydro-L-gulonate in the uronate cycle. The enzyme requires NAD(H) as a coenzyme, and is inhibited by inorganic phosphate. A similar gene in the rabbit is thought to serve a structural role in the lens of the eye. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Crystallin Lambda 1

Chromosome: CHR13: 20977805 -21100012

Locus: 13q12.11
