OVOL2-CBLN4 Fusion FISH Probe

The OVOL2-CBLN4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the OVOL2 and CBLN4 genes. The fusion of the OVOL2 and CBLN4 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

OVOL2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the evolutionarily conserved ovo-like protein family. Mammalian members of this family contain a single zinc finger domain composed of a tetrad of C2H2 zinc fingers with variable N- and C-terminal extensions that contain intrinsically disordered domains. Members of this family are involved in epithelial development and differentiation. Knockout of this gene in mouse results in early embryonic lethality with phenotypes that include neurectoderm expansion, impaired vascularization, and heart anomalies. In humans, allelic variants of this gene have been associated with posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]

Gene Name: Ovo Like Zinc Finger 2

Chromosome: CHR20: 18004795 -18038521

Locus: 20p11.23

CBLN4 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of a family of small secreted proteins containing C1Q domains. Members of this family are involved in regulation of neurexin signalling during synapse development. The mouse homolog of the protein encoded by this gene competes with netrin to bind to the deleted in colorectal cancer receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Gene Name: Cerebellin 4 Precursor

Chromosome: CHR20: 54572495 -54580012
