PARP14-TASP1 Fusion FISH Probe

The PARP14-TASP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PARP14 and TASP1 genes. The fusion of the PARP14 and TASP1 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

PARP14 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) protein family. The encoded anti-apoptotic protein may regulate aerobic glycolysis and promote survival of cancer cells. Increased expression of this gene has been reported in a variety of tumor types. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]

Gene Name: Poly(ADP-ribose) Polymerase Family Member 14

Chromosome: CHR3: 122399671 -122449687

Locus: 3q21.1

TASP1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes an endopeptidase that cleaves specific substrates following aspartate residues. The encoded protein undergoes posttranslational autoproteolytic processing to generate alpha and beta subunits, which reassemble into the active alpha2-beta2 heterotetramer. It is required to cleave MLL, a protein required for the maintenance of HOX gene expression, and TFIIA, a basal transcription factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Taspase 1

Chromosome: CHR20: 13370035 -13619583

Locus: 20p12.1
