PAXIP1-NCAPG2 Fusion FISH Probe

The PAXIP1-NCAPG2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PAXIP1 and NCAPG2 genes. The fusion of the PAXIP1 and NCAPG2 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PAXIP1 Gene Summary

This gene is a member of the paired box (PAX) gene family and encodes a nuclear protein with six BRCT (breast cancer carboxy-terminal) domains. This protein plays a critical role in maintaining genome stability, condensation of chromatin and progression through mitosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: PAX Interacting Protein 1

Chromosome: CHR7: 154735399 -154794682

Locus: 7q36.2

NCAPG2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the Condensin2nSMC family of proteins. The encoded protein is a regulatory subunit of the condensin II complex which, along with the condensin I complex, plays a role in chromosome assembly and segregation during mitosis. A similar protein in mouse is required for early development of the embryo. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]

Gene Name: Non-SMC Condensin II Complex Subunit G2

Chromosome: CHR7: 158424002 -158497520

Locus: 7q36.3
