PDZRN3-THRB Fusion FISH Probe

The PDZRN3-THRB Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PDZRN3 and THRB genes. The fusion of the PDZRN3 and THRB genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

THRB Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor for triiodothyronine. It is one of the several receptors for thyroid hormone, and has been shown to mediate the biological activities of thyroid hormone. Knockout studies in mice suggest that the different receptors, while having certain extent of redundancy, may mediate different functions of thyroid hormone. Mutations in this gene are known to be a cause of generalized thyroid hormone resistance (GTHR), a syndrome characterized by goiter and high levels of circulating thyroid hormone (T3-T4), with normal or slightly elevated thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Thyroid Hormone Receptor Beta

Chromosome: CHR3: 24158644 -24536313

Locus: 3p24.2

PDZRN3 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the LNX (Ligand of Numb Protein-X) family of RING-type ubiquitin E3 ligases. This protein may function in vascular morphogenesis and the differentiation of adipocytes, osteoblasts and myoblasts. This protein may be targeted for degradation by the human papilloma virus E6 protein. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Gene Name: PDZ Domain Containing Ring Finger 3
