PLS1-TFDP2 Fusion FISH Probe

The PLS1-TFDP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PLS1 and TFDP2 genes. The fusion of the PLS1 and TFDP2 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PLS1 Gene Summary

Plastins are a family of actin-binding proteins that are conserved throughout eukaryote evolution and expressed in most tissues of higher eukaryotes. In humans, two ubiquitous plastin isoforms (L and T) have been identified. The protein encoded by this gene is a third distinct plastin isoform, which is specifically expressed at high levels in the small intestine. Alternatively spliced transcript variants varying in the 5' UTR, but encoding the same protein, have been found for this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 11.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]

Gene Name: Plastin 1

Chromosome: CHR3: 142315228 -142432505

Locus: 3q23

TFDP2 Gene Summary

The gene is a member of the transcription factor DP family. The encoded protein forms heterodimers with the E2F transcription factors resulting in transcriptional activation of cell cycle regulated genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Gene Name: Transcription Factor Dp-2

Chromosome: CHR3: 141663269 -141868386

Locus: 3q23
