PPM1B-IQCA1 Fusion FISH Probe

The PPM1B-IQCA1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPM1B and IQCA1 genes. The fusion of the PPM1B and IQCA1 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

PPM1B Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This phosphatase has been shown to dephosphorylate cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), and thus may be involved in cell cycle control. Overexpression of this phosphatase is reported to cause cell-growth arrest or cell death. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Additional transcript variants have been described, but currently do not represent full-length sequences. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase, Mg2+/Mn2+ Dependent 1B

Chromosome: CHR2: 44395999 -44461742

Locus: 2p21

IQCA1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the ATPases Associated with diverse cellular Activities (AAA) superfamily. Members of this superfamily, found in all organisms, participate in a large number of cellular processes and contain the ATPase module consisting of an alpha-beta-alpha core domain and the Walker A and B motifs of the P-loop NTPases. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]
