PPME1-NARS2 Fusion FISH Probe

The PPME1-NARS2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPME1 and NARS2 genes. The fusion of the PPME1 and NARS2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PPME1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein phosphatase methylesterase localized to the nucleus. The encoded protein acts on the protein phosphatase-2A catalytic subunit and supports the ERK pathway through dephosphorylation of regulatory proteins. It plays a role in malignant glioma progression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2012]

Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase Methylesterase 1

Chromosome: CHR11: 73882367 -73965748

Locus: 11q13.4

NARS2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a putative member of the class II family of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. These enzymes play a critical role in protein biosynthesis by charging tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. This protein is encoded by the nuclear genome but is likely to be imported to the mitochondrion where it is thought to catalyze the ligation of asparagine to tRNA molecules. Mutations in this gene have been associated with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 24 (COXPD24). [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2015]

Gene Name: Asparaginyl-tRNA Synthetase 2, Mitochondrial

Chromosome: CHR11: 78147006 -78285909

Locus: 11q14.1
