PPP2CB-PURG Fusion FISH Probe

The PPP2CB-PURG Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PPP2CB and PURG genes. The fusion of the PPP2CB and PURG genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma, and Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

PPP2CB Gene Summary

This gene encodes the phosphatase 2A catalytic subunit. Protein phosphatase 2A is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, and it is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. It consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme, which is composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, that associates with a variety of regulatory subunits. This gene encodes a beta isoform of the catalytic subunit. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Gene Name: Protein Phosphatase 2 Catalytic Subunit Beta

Chromosome: CHR8: 30643125 -30670352

Locus: 8p12

PURG Gene Summary

The exact function of this gene is not known, however, its encoded product is highly similar to purine-rich element binding protein A. The latter is a DNA-binding protein which binds preferentially to the single strand of the purine-rich element termed PUR, and has been implicated in the control of both DNA replication and transcription. This gene lies in close proximity to the Werner syndrome gene, but on the opposite strand, on chromosome 8p11. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]

Gene Name: Purine Rich Element Binding Protein G

Chromosome: CHR8: 30853320 -30891231

Locus: 8p12
