PRKDC-UBE2V2 Fusion FISH Probe

The PRKDC-UBE2V2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PRKDC and UBE2V2 genes. The fusion of the PRKDC and UBE2V2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PRKDC Gene Summary

This gene encodes the catalytic subunit of the DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK). It functions with the Ku70/Ku80 heterodimer protein in DNA double strand break repair and recombination. The protein encoded is a member of the PI3/PI4-kinase family.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Gene Name: Protein Kinase, DNA-activated, Catalytic Polypeptide

Chromosome: CHR8: 48685668 -48872743

Locus: 8q11.21

UBE2V2 Gene Summary

Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant proteins constitute a distinct subfamily within the E2 protein family. They have sequence similarity to other ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes but lack the conserved cysteine residue that is critical for the catalytic activity of E2s. The protein encoded by this gene also shares homology with ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant 1 and yeast MMS2 gene product. It may be involved in the differentiation of monocytes and enterocytes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme E2 V2

Chromosome: CHR8: 48920994 -48974454

Locus: 8q11.21
