PTPRZ1-DOCK4 Fusion FISH Probe

The PTPRZ1-DOCK4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the PTPRZ1 and DOCK4 genes. The fusion of the PTPRZ1 and DOCK4 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PTPRZ1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase family. Expression of this gene is restricted to the central nervous system (CNS), and it may be involved in the regulation of specific developmental processes in the CNS. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Gene Name: Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase, Receptor Type Z1

Chromosome: CHR7: 121513158 -121702090

Locus: 7q31.32

DOCK4 Gene Summary

This gene is a member of the dedicator of cytokinesis (DOCK) family and encodes a protein with a DHR-1 (CZH-1) domain, a DHR-2 (CZH-2) domain and an SH3 domain. This membrane-associated, cytoplasmic protein functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor and is involved in regulation of adherens junctions between cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with ovarian, prostate, glioma, and colorectal cancers. Alternatively spliced variants which encode different protein isoforms have been described, but only one has been fully characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Dedicator Of Cytokinesis 4

Chromosome: CHR7: 111366163 -111846462

Locus: 7q31.1
