RBM39-WFDC13 Fusion FISH Probe

The RBM39-WFDC13 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RBM39 and WFDC13 genes. The fusion of the RBM39 and WFDC13 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RBM39 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the U2AF65 family of proteins. The encoded protein is found in the nucleus, where it co-localizes with core spliceosomal proteins. It has been shown to play a role in both steroid hormone receptor-mediated transcription and alternative splicing, and it is also a transcriptional coregulator of the viral oncoprotein v-Rel. Multiple transcript variants have been observed for this gene. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Gene Name: RNA Binding Motif Protein 39

Chromosome: CHR20: 34291530 -34330258

Locus: 20q11.22

WFDC13 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the WAP-type four-disulfide core (WFDC) domain family. The WFDC domain, or WAP signature motif, contains eight cysteines forming four disulfide bonds at the core of the protein, and functions as a protease inhibitor. Most WFDC gene members are localized to chromosome 20q12-q13 in two clusters: centromeric and telomeric. This gene belongs to the telomeric cluster. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: WAP Four-disulfide Core Domain 13

Chromosome: CHR20: 44330654 -44337456

Locus: 20q13.12
