RTN4-MITD1 Fusion FISH Probe

The RTN4-MITD1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the RTN4 and MITD1 genes. The fusion of the RTN4 and MITD1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RTN4 Gene Summary

This gene belongs to the family of reticulon encoding genes. Reticulons are associated with the endoplasmic reticulum, and are involved in neuroendocrine secretion or in membrane trafficking in neuroendocrine cells. The product of this gene is a potent neurite outgrowth inhibitor which may also help block the regeneration of the central nervous system in higher vertebrates. Alternatively spliced transcript variants derived both from differential splicing and differential promoter usage and encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Reticulon 4

Chromosome: CHR2: 55199326 -55277734

Locus: 2p16.1

MITD1 Gene Summary

Abscission, the separation of daughter cells at the end of cytokinesis, is effected by endosomal sorting complexes required for transport III (ESCRT-III). The protein encoded by this gene functions as a homodimer, with the N-termini binding to a subset of ESCRT-III subunits and the C-termini binding to membranes. The encoded protein regulates ESCRT-III activity and is required for proper cytokinesis. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]

Gene Name: Microtubule Interacting And Trafficking Domain Containing 1

Chromosome: CHR2: 99785725 -99797492

Locus: 2q11.2
