SERPINE2-FARSB Fusion FISH Probe

The SERPINE2-FARSB Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SERPINE2 and FARSB genes. The fusion of the SERPINE2 and FARSB genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

SERPINE2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the serpin family of proteins, a group of proteins that inhibit serine proteases. Thrombin, urokinase, plasmin and trypsin are among the proteases that this family member can inhibit. This gene is a susceptibility gene for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and for emphysema. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Gene Name: Serpin Family E Member 2

Chromosome: CHR2: 224839764 -224904036

Locus: 2q36.1

FARSB Gene Summary

This gene encodes a highly conserved enzyme that belongs to the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase class IIc subfamily. This enzyme comprises the regulatory beta subunits that form a tetramer with two catalytic alpha subunits. In the presence of ATP, this tetramer is responsible for attaching L-phenylalanine to the terminal adenosine of the appropriate tRNA. A pseudogene located on chromosome 10 has been identified. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]

Gene Name: Phenylalanyl-tRNA Synthetase Beta Subunit

Chromosome: CHR2: 223436161 -223520827

Locus: 2q36.1
