SERPING1-CCT5 Fusion FISH Probe

The SERPING1-CCT5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SERPING1 and CCT5 genes. The fusion of the SERPING1 and CCT5 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

SERPING1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a highly glycosylated plasma protein involved in the regulation of the complement cascade. Its protein inhibits activated C1r and C1s of the first complement component and thus regulates complement activation. Deficiency of this protein is associated with hereditary angioneurotic oedema (HANE). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Serpin Family G Member 1

Chromosome: CHR11: 57365026 -57382326

Locus: 11q12.1

CCT5 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a molecular chaperone that is a member of the chaperonin containing TCP1 complex (CCT), also known as the TCP1 ring complex (TRiC). This complex consists of two identical stacked rings, each containing eight different proteins. Unfolded polypeptides enter the central cavity of the complex and are folded in an ATP-dependent manner. The complex folds various proteins, including actin and tubulin. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy with spastic paraplegia (HSNSP). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 5 and 13. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

Gene Name: Chaperonin Containing TCP1 Subunit 5

Chromosome: CHR5: 10250281 -10266501

Locus: 5p15.2
