SFN-TYK2 Fusion FISH Probe

The SFN-TYK2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SFN and TYK2 genes. The fusion of the SFN and TYK2 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

SFN Gene Summary

This gene encodes a cell cycle checkpoint protein. The encoded protein binds to translation and initiation factors and functions as a regulator of mitotic translation. In response to DNA damage this protein plays a role in preventing DNA errors during mitosis. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]

Gene Name: Stratifin

Chromosome: CHR1: 27189632 -27190947

Locus: 1p36.11

TYK2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the tyrosine kinase and, more specifically, the Janus kinases (JAKs) protein families. This protein associates with the cytoplasmic domain of type I and type II cytokine receptors and promulgate cytokine signals by phosphorylating receptor subunits. It is also component of both the type I and type III interferon signaling pathways. As such, it may play a role in anti-viral immunity. A mutation in this gene has been associated with hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES) - a primary immunodeficiency characterized by elevated serum immunoglobulin E. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Tyrosine Kinase 2

Chromosome: CHR19: 10461203 -10491248

Locus: 19p13.2
