SH3BP1-CACNA1I Fusion FISH Probe

The SH3BP1-CACNA1I Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SH3BP1 and CACNA1I genes. The fusion of the SH3BP1 and CACNA1I genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

CACNA1I Gene Summary

This gene encodes the pore-forming alpha subunit of a voltage gated calcium channel. The encoded protein is a member of a subfamily of calcium channels referred to as is a low voltage-activated, T-type, calcium channel. The channel encoded by this protein is characterized by a slower activation and inactivation compared to other T-type calcium channels. This protein may be involved in calcium signaling in neurons. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Gene Name: Calcium Voltage-gated Channel Subunit Alpha1 I

Chromosome: CHR22: 39966757 -40085740

Locus: 22q13.1

SH3BP1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the Rho GTPase activating protein (RhoGAP) family. The encoded protein regulates Rac signaling and plays a role in cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility and epithelial junction formation. This protein's association with the exocyst complex, which tethers secretory vesicles to the plasma membrane, has been demonstrated to be important in cell motility. In a distinct complex, this protein has been shown to regulate epithelial junction formation and morphogenesis. By interacting with the Plexin-D1 cell surface receptor, this protein mediates changes in the cytoskeleton in response to semaphorin binding. This protein may promote metastasis in human liver cancer cells and tissues. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]
