SNAI1-PFDN4 Fusion FISH Probe

The SNAI1-PFDN4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the SNAI1 and PFDN4 genes. The fusion of the SNAI1 and PFDN4 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma, and Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

PFDN4 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the prefoldin beta subunit family. The encoded protein is one of six subunits of prefoldin, a molecular chaperone complex that binds and stabilizes newly synthesized polypeptides, thereby allowing them to fold correctly. The complex, consisting of two alpha and four beta subunits, forms a double beta barrel assembly with six protruding coiled-coils. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Prefoldin Subunit 4

Chromosome: CHR20: 52824501 -52836492

Locus: 20q13.2

SNAI1 Gene Summary

The Drosophila embryonic protein snail is a zinc finger transcriptional repressor which downregulates the expression of ectodermal genes within the mesoderm. The nuclear protein encoded by this gene is structurally similar to the Drosophila snail protein, and is also thought to be critical for mesoderm formation in the developing embryo. At least two variants of a similar processed pseudogene have been found on chromosome 2. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Snail Family Transcriptional Repressor 1

Chromosome: CHR20: 48599512 -48605420

Locus: 20q13.13
