STON2-RPGRIP1 Fusion FISH Probe

The STON2-RPGRIP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the STON2 and RPGRIP1 genes. The fusion of the STON2 and RPGRIP1 genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RPGRIP1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a photoreceptor protein that interacts with retinitis pigmentosa GTPase regulator protein and is a key component of cone and rod photoreceptor cells. Mutations in this gene lead to autosomal recessive congenital blindness. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Gene Name: RPGR Interacting Protein 1

Chromosome: CHR14: 21756135 -21819460

Locus: 14q11.2

STON2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein which is a membrane protein involved in regulating endocytotic complexes. The protein product is described as one of the clathrin-associated sorting proteins, adaptor molecules which ensure specific proteins are internalized. The encoded protein has also been shown to participate in synaptic vesicle recycling through interaction with synaptotagmin 1 required for neurotransmission. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]

Gene Name: Stonin 2

Chromosome: CHR14: 81736908 -81864927

Locus: 14q31.1
