TANK-MNAT1 Fusion FISH Probe

The TANK-MNAT1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TANK and MNAT1 genes. The fusion of the TANK and MNAT1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

MNAT1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene, along with cyclin H and CDK7, forms the CDK-activating kinase (CAK) enzymatic complex. This complex activates several cyclin-associated kinases and can also associate with TFIIH to activate transcription by RNA polymerase II. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Gene Name: MNAT1, CDK Activating Kinase Assembly Factor

Chromosome: CHR14: 61201458 -61435398

Locus: 14q23.1

TANK Gene Summary

The TRAF (tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor) family of proteins associate with and transduce signals from members of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. The protein encoded by this gene is found in the cytoplasm and can bind to TRAF1, TRAF2, or TRAF3, thereby inhibiting TRAF function by sequestering the TRAFs in a latent state in the cytoplasm. For example, the protein encoded by this gene can block TRAF2 binding to LMP1, the Epstein-Barr virus transforming protein, and inhibit LMP1-mediated NF-kappa-B activation. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]

Gene Name: TRAF Family Member Associated NFKB Activator

Chromosome: CHR2: 161993465 -162092682

Locus: 2q24.2
