TBCD-HLCS Fusion FISH Probe

The TBCD-HLCS Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TBCD and HLCS genes. The fusion of the TBCD and HLCS genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

HLCS Gene Summary

This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the binding of biotin to carboxylases and histones. The protein plays an important role in gluconeogenesis, fatty acid synthesis and branched chain amino acid catabolism. Defects in this gene are the cause of holocarboxylase synthetase deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]

Gene Name: Holocarboxylase Synthetase

Chromosome: CHR21: 38123188 -38362545

Locus: 21q22.13

TBCD Gene Summary

Cofactor D is one of four proteins (cofactors A, D, E, and C) involved in the pathway leading to correctly folded beta-tubulin from folding intermediates. Cofactors A and D are believed to play a role in capturing and stabilizing beta-tubulin intermediates in a quasi-native confirmation. Cofactor E binds to the cofactor D/beta-tubulin complex; interaction with cofactor C then causes the release of beta-tubulin polypeptides that are committed to the native state. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Tubulin Folding Cofactor D

Chromosome: CHR17: 80709939 -80901062

Locus: 17q25.3
