TM4SF1-DDX27 Fusion FISH Probe

The TM4SF1-DDX27 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TM4SF1 and DDX27 genes. The fusion of the TM4SF1 and DDX27 genes has been associated with Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

TM4SF1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface antigen and is highly expressed in different carcinomas. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Transmembrane 4 L Six Family Member 1

Chromosome: CHR3: 149086804 -149095568

Locus: 3q25.1

DDX27 Gene Summary

DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. This gene encodes a DEAD box protein involved in the processing of 5.8S and 28S ribosomal RNAs. More specifically, the encoded protein localizes to the nucleolus, where it interacts with the PeBoW complex to ensure proper 3' end formation of 47S rRNA. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]

Gene Name: DEAD-box Helicase 27
