TNPO1-GTF2H1 Fusion FISH Probe

The TNPO1-GTF2H1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TNPO1 and GTF2H1 genes. The fusion of the TNPO1 and GTF2H1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

GTF2H1 Gene Summary

The General Transcription Factor IIH Subunit 1 (GTF2H1) gene is located on chr11 :18343815-18388590 at 11p15.1.

Gene Name: General Transcription Factor IIH Subunit 1

Chromosome: CHR11: 18343815 -18388590

Locus: 11p15.1

TNPO1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes the beta subunit of the karyopherin receptor complex which interacts with nuclear localization signals to target nuclear proteins to the nucleus. The karyopherin receptor complex is a heterodimer of an alpha subunit which recognizes the nuclear localization signal and a beta subunit which docks the complex at nucleoporins. Alternate splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Transportin 1

Chromosome: CHR5: 72112417 -72210215

Locus: 5q13.2
