ZNF292-FIG4 Fusion FISH Probe

The ZNF292-FIG4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF292 and FIG4 genes. The fusion of the ZNF292 and FIG4 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

FIG4 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the SAC domain-containing protein gene family. The SAC domain, approximately 400 amino acids in length and consisting of seven conserved motifs, has been shown to possess phosphoinositide phosphatase activity. The yeast homolog, Sac1p, is involved in the regulation of various phosphoinositides, and affects diverse cellular functions such as actin cytoskeleton organization, Golgi function, and maintenance of vacuole morphology. Membrane-bound phosphoinositides function as signaling molecules and play a key role in vesicle trafficking in eukaryotic cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, type 4J. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: FIG4 Phosphoinositide 5-phosphatase

Chromosome: CHR6: 110012423 -110146634

ZNF292 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a growth hormone-dependent, zinc finger transcription factor that functions as a tumor suppressor. Naturally occurring mutations in this gene are associated with gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
