ZNF331-NLRP4 Fusion FISH Probe

The ZNF331-NLRP4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF331 and NLRP4 genes. The fusion of the ZNF331 and NLRP4 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ZNF331 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a zinc finger protein containing a KRAB (Kruppel-associated box) domain found in transcriptional repressors. This gene may be methylated and silenced in cancer cells. This gene is located within a differentially methylated region (DMR) and shows allele-specific expression in placenta. Alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 331

Chromosome: CHR19: 54024176 -54083523

Locus: 19q13.42

NLRP4 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat receptor (NLR) family, and is predicted to contain an N-terminal pyrin effector domain (PYD), a centrally-located nucleotide-binding and oligomerization domain (NACHT) and C-terminal leucine-rich repeats (LRR). This gene product has a demonstrated role as a negative regulator of autophagy and type I interferon signaling pathways as a result of protein interactions with its NACHT domain. The PYD domain has also been shown to be important in the inhibition of NF-kB (nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells). [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]

Gene Name: NLR Family Pyrin Domain Containing 4

Chromosome: CHR19: 56347943 -56393220

Locus: 19q13.43
