ZNF644-PTGER3 Fusion FISH Probe

The ZNF644-PTGER3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF644 and PTGER3 genes. The fusion of the ZNF644 and PTGER3 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PTGER3 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor family. This protein is one of four receptors identified for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). This receptor may have many biological functions, which involve digestion, nervous system, kidney reabsorption, and uterine contraction activities. Studies of the mouse counterpart suggest that this receptor may also mediate adrenocorticotropic hormone response as well as fever generation in response to exogenous and endogenous stimuli. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2009]

Gene Name: Prostaglandin E Receptor 3

Chromosome: CHR1: 71318035 -71513491

Locus: 1p31.1

ZNF644 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a zinc finger transcription factor that may play a role in eye development. Defects in this gene have been associated with high myopia. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 644
