GDCA FISH Probe

The GDCA FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the GDCA gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary

Sweet, bitter, and umami tastes are transmitted from taste receptors by a specific guanine nucleotide binding protein. The protein encoded by this gene is the alpha subunit of this heterotrimeric G protein, which is found not only in the oral epithelium but also in gut tissues. Variations in this gene have been linked to metabolic syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
